Regional Logistics Manager (Oxfam GB)
South Asia (base country to be confirmed)
£20730 – £26910 net pa + competitive benefits (Fixed-term unaccompanied 12 month contract)
The Boxing Day Tsunami. The Kashmir Earthquake. Cyclone Sidr. Some of the most devastating humanitarian disasters in recent memory. Each one affected the lives of millions of South Asians. And each one falls under the remit of our Regional Logistics Manager. If you’re looking for a logistics role with unrivalled scope for impact, this is it.
Be challenged
South Asia has seen some of the largest disasters in human history. The effects of climate change are only making matters worse, which is why we need to streamline and capacity build our logistics strategies across the region to support the scale and scope of our programmes. It’s a huge responsibility with tremendous scope for impact, and it’ll largely be down to you. As well as developing, managing and implementing our logistics and supply function for the region, you’ll make sure it runs as efficiently and cost-effectively as possible.
Be involved
Responsibilities don’t come much bigger than this, which is why we’re looking for someone with experience in a similar international logistics and supply role. There, you’ll have fine tuned your personnel, training, vehicle and communications management skills. You’ll also have strengthened your ability to negotiate with people at all levels – from partner agencies to government officials. To get to grips with the different needs and circumstances of each of the country programmes, you’ll also be willing and able to work out in the field from time to time.
Be Oxfam
A simple, inescapable truth underlines everything we do at Oxfam. There’s enough wealth in this world to go around. It’s not unfortunate that people live in poverty. It’s unjustifiable. It’s not their problem. It’s ours too. And with the right support, we can beat poverty and injustice. More than 8,000 people already commit their time and talents to our campaigning, humanitarian and long-term development projects. Now we’re looking for yours.
